'Criatura' is the debut EP from the APOCALIPSIS' founder, Brooklyn-based, Ecuadorian-Lithuanian artist Riobamba. The title references Clarissa Pinkola Estés’ “Women Who Run With The Wolves,” calling in intuitive storytelling traditions of “ritual death, initiation, and rebirth” as necessities for transformation.

'Criatura' is a 3-track translation of APOCALIPSIS’ manifesto, embracing death/life/death cycles set to a soundtrack that is confrontational and disruptive by design– merging urgent siren calls, warped dembow/bubbling loops, and transmuted vocal samples from Riobamba. APOCALIPSIS will also be releasing a 'Criatura' remix EP, with features from Saso (DR/Bronx) and ARKEDABAR (Perú/Miami).

'Criatura' is spell-casting for transformation, calling in self-determined rituals, respectful studying of ancestral knowledge, and a welcoming of dualities to exist alongside each other as necessary tools for resistance.

Instead of a record release party, APOCALIPSIS is joining forces with Melting Point for a protest on October 24th from 2-6 PM in front of US Immigrant & Customs Enforcement (ICE) headquarters located at 26 Federal Plaza in Manhattan. Melting Point organizes parties to raise money for Al Otro Lado, a non-profit providing free legal representation for migrants, asylum seekers, and refugees at the border.
