APOCALIPSIS is proud to present Worldwide Link-Up, a high-energy, boundary-breaking album from Dominican-American DJ, producer, and rising star Dana Lu. Listen to the exclusive premiere of lead single "Le Damo Duro" on DJ Mag here!
Worldwide Link-Up is a 5-track immersion into the global journey that’s characteric of Dana Lu’s genre-transcendent DJ sets, where she weaves together a multitude of dance music expressions across house, Jersey club, reggaeton, soca, dancehall, and beyond.
Through her past releases Girls Having Fun Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 and club-leveling single “2AM IN NYC,” Dana Lu has established herself as a producer with an appetite for experimentation, and a clear vision: “I want to show other Black and Brown-skinned girls that you can do this too, that this is possible, and you can do it your way.”
As Dana Lu invites us into the next evolution of her creative universe, she’s taking a worldwide team of dancefloor innovators along with her–
Worldwide Link-Up opens with “Enter, Entrar,” featuring vocals from Puerto Rican-Panamanian visionary DJ Bembona and Dominican MC and curator of Èn My Bag event series Andres Dualitá, boldly setting the tone with distorted 808s and life-affirming reminders that “lo que es pa ti, es pa ti– y nadie, y nada te lo quita.”
Lead single “Le Damo Duro” follows, blasting into a horn-powered track that merges unstoppable dembow and dance music energies, featuring low-frequency legend of el movimiento desde la República Dominicana, Pablo Piddy, and Ecuadorian-Salvadoran firestarter by way of Queens, SHELL X.
“Sound Di Horn” blurs the lines between soca and Jersey club with finesse, featuring King Bubba FM by way of Barbados on the mic for a peak time, club-ready track.
Dominican Republic-Puerto Rico rooted, Bronx-based vocalist Taina Rain shines on “Come My Way,” a fast-flowing Spanglish pop house track that’s emblematic of the new generation of artists across the five boroughs that are carrying the torch of New York City’s history in dance music.
“Mami en Rolos” closes the sonic circuit with a delightfully off-kilter experimental reggaetón track, featuring a direct collaboration with enigmatic vocalist and producer Godwonder, who forges a direct connection between Amsterdam and Santo Domingo.
